Association News FYI: The Pennsylvania Fire Police Association has changed their policy for Life Insurance. “Such members shall receive twelve ($12) dollars as a death benefit for each year of membership payable for any death occurring after the first year of membership”. Subsequently, there is no longer a $300.00 policy payout, only $12 per year of membership. In Other News Guilio is now our official historian and has been quite busy. He found a copy of the original charter and it includes the names of all our founding fathers. Look for it on our website: DelcoFIrePolice.org. Thanks, Guilio, for finding all this fascinating information from our past. Guilio, Art, Amanda and Steve have been diligently working on an email list of all members. Active dues paying members should receive this March 2021 via the new email system. Emergency notices and requests for assistance will also be sent out via email. An added note is that Tim Boyce is happy to be a part of our association informational emails. John O’Malley was able to secure for us association stickers for our vehicles. They are absolutely beautiful and cost only $5.00. Contact Guilio or me if you are interested. Check out the website to see what they look like. News From the Districts Bob Oswiany is now Captain with Ben Dehaven as Lieutenant. Bob was 10th in runs last year making 308 runs out of 661. Way to go guys! Bill Eisenhart came out of retirement and is now Captain at Middletown Fire Company. A special thanks to the following for their participation at the funeral detail for Bye Heacock: Dave Shafer, Henry Sachen, Mike Elder, John Gilchrist, Art Gorga, Tom Trevelino and Paul Blanford. Thank you for your service. A job well done! Member News Earle Pensyl had knee surgery and is in physical therapy. Steve Edwards had a “possible” stroke, but that has been ruled out. He is feeling better now, but continues to have migraines. In other health news, I have been informed that Joe Drabik (Lansdowne) has suffered another heart attack on February 26 and was in Lankenau Hospital through the 28 th . He is home now and recuperating. Prayers for Sue too! Lois is still staying in a hotel in Broomall. Her home owner’s insurance wanted the fan manufacturer to investigate why their fan caught fire. Of course, the fan is over 40 years old. They continue to be cooperative. Please remind Lois that we support her by sending cards to her home address (602 Millbank Road Upper Darby, PA 19082), text or phone calls. We have told Lois if she needs anything, we will have her back. Please keep me up to date on any news that I can include in the newsletter. We will continue to look forward to a meeting, but will proceed on a month-to-month basis. Prayers to all members as you continue the difficult duty of Fire Policing. God bless us all.
